Sharon Xiao, Founder of Atelier Kite in Stäfa

Sharon Xiao is the founder and director of Atelier Kite in Stäfa on Lake Zurich, a creative meeting place for children and families in the region.

At Atelier Kite, I draw on everything my years of working with children of all ages have taught me. My offering fills a gap that many parents have shared with me: a care concept that actively involves parents and allows them to take part in their children’s rapid development.

I grew up in the beautiful Rhine Valley near Sargans and moved to the Canton of Zurich in 2019. My childhood in the Rhine Valley shaped me deeply and taught me how important it is for children to have a place where they feel seen, understood, and accepted. Today, I combine my understanding of traditional Swiss values with my own experience of growing up influenced by different cultural backgrounds.

Creativity is my language, and I love inspiring children with my passion for creating and making. Atelier Kite is guided by values that shape everything I do: creativity, openness, respect for tradition, and inclusion. These principles define my approach and are the foundation I hope to pass on to the next generation.
